Hello i have a little bit time left so I came to write here a bit.

I have bought a few books to learn magic because on the visichat here is it so still the last time.

Also for balloon twisting I have found a few site's on internet where they explain how to do it.

But :( I feel me so stupid I learn and understand the way how better when you guy's sau it part by part over and over again then in a book with text and a few pictures.

I have talked about it with my psychiatric who help me with my autism and he said that he think it is becuase my autisme that I learn and understand you more then books.

I have try to learn it by my selve but yeah not easy for me :(
But I keep tryiing

I am so happy that I found a few months ago this group and that I accept here as member.

I have learned a lot since then and have found new friends :)

I try to be very active to learn here a lot but Glen is already a few weeks very sick and I try to some often but not every day I can make it.

I realy like the visichat and the other stuff here.

In our clowning we have already try a few things we learned and every one found it fantastic.

I have now also books of magic and try to read and try stuff out what I like.
I even have learned this week my first 2 card tricks :)
A have performed them by my mother in law and she don't understand how it works so I did well I supose :)

I hope Glen wil be better soon so I can be more active then.

So frustrated right now, and so tired. My legs are restless while my mind is wary. I wish I could go to sleep, but at least today's a day I will be able to sleep in. All this week I've had to get up early and i've been on the go. Today I am not doing ANYTHING outside of this house, unless it is taking pictures. Speaking of which, I finally got my new camera - a Kodak Easyshare Z915. I love it! 10mp, 10X optimal zoom, a friggin panorama setting. LOVE IT! I got an 8 gig card to go with it so that I can take tons of videos and pictures at concerts. Josh really wants me to shoot some videos for him so we might do that tomorrow. Having this camera might actually be the motivation that will make me want to shoot my own video. Finally. That AND if we finally get the package from Ellusionist that we've been waiting for. I ordered 10 decks, and I can't wait to get em. I'd like to use those fresh new cards to make a video I think.

I'm really glad that I finally got my website up and running. There's still a lot of stuff missing, but at least there is enough stuff on there to catch peoples eyes. I have so many things that I need to do this weekend, hopefully I'll get them all done. One of them is getting more and more galleries put onto the site and making the thumbnails that link to them. Thats a majority of the content on the site since its for my graphics and photography. I put a bunch of fun stuff on there though, already, including some videos and a playlist. I like the idea of making the playlists, but I don't know who will actually check them out. It's mostly indie stuff from the IRP playlists that I have. It's like a best of the best playlist, and I will be making more. Anyway, the URL is gdtsgraphix.net if you want to check it out. Please do. I need to get the guestbook put on there so people can leave messages.. I should make a list of things to do, that usually helps.

Since I'm awake and probably not sleeping for a bit, I think that's what I'll do.

Ok, so it's been a while since i've been around. Well, except for a few times in the chatroom lately. I made some posts today, and I plan on coming back to make more. The room I am sitting in is not safe right now because of the children in it lol. They have gas problems. Hopefully tomorrow during school hours I will come back and do some more. ALSO, I plan on finishing Genesis and writing up a review for it.

I still want to shoot some videos, and I even bought a mini tripod for it, but I haven't done it yet. No motivation. I have, however, taken a bunch of videos from concerts lately, but that's about it. I've gotten some great stuff too. I plan on buying a new camera, the exact replica of the one my friend has, because I enjoy it so. But anyway, that's it. I dont think anyone really reads my blog...

I like to put things in a blog, so I do it here also in my blog area :)

2 months ago I am got member here, I could speak at that time english but write and read was more difficult.

I have try to read and write in English because I really wanted to learn more English. And it is amazing who quick it go when you are on chat or try read al the messages here. I still don't know every word and make some mistakes but I Leraned a lot English

I realy like the group, I have also learned the beginning with sponge balls and learn how to make them.

But o my God, without that it was my idea to make sponge balls and make in the meen time a magic trick it happens just like that.

I had find a sponge with colours to practis here at home for us. I start cutting and cutting, but then it happend, the sponge pieces start to stich on my hands, the longer I cut the more my hands look like pieces sponge. Glen came to see and just at that time the ball was in my hand I twist my hand up site down and waw the ball stay there every move I did it just stay hanging there.
I could turn my hand in evry move but it ceep stick there.

Glen was looking and said how do you do that? I said magic :)
Yes that I see he said but how? I start laughing and said it was not my opinion to do it I just want to make sponge balls and now this happend.

Amazing he said. He took the sponge out of my hand and try it also but it don't work. (I knew it was because I was full of static electricity but he don't know it) He try and try but it wont work. He said do it again for me so I can see how you do it I will learn it.

I said it won't go again, but he don't belive it. I try and try but I was right i can't do it again.

We now try when we practising our clown acts also some magic Glen with his magis had, and tricks with wire just beginner stuff, I go search if I found something else that is easy to do and to learn I don't know why but learning magic is hard for us. But I don't give up :)

So this was it for now in a time I put a new blogwrite here about us.

I had a interesting thing happen to me not too long ago and I Thought it might make a interesting first blog.

I was performing for some strangers in the park/tourist location. My spectators were about 8 teen agers and they all loved the magic. I performed sponge balls and everybody freaked out!

They made alot of noise hollering and jumping around they were really enjoying themselves. I finished and started to walk away.

A squad car pulled up to the teenagers and police officer got out he said he had gotten a call about somone disturbing the peace the teenagers were like " come back and show him why we were making noise" to me I walked over and the policeman nodded that I should show some magic.

I was kinda nervous but I did sponge balls and a card trick. The police man watched nodded his head and said " carry on just keep it down" Got in his car and drove away.

It was a very unique experience have you guy's ever had something like this happen to you? I was glad the police were so conscientious and I was glad they let me proceed with my illusioins. (:

I am new here, so i shell tell a little about me.

My name is Kristel and I live in Belgium. Normal I speak Dutch so if I write some mistakes in Englisch I am sorry then I try to do my best.

My son is sick for his life and we have this summer meet a Clown who let us feel happy and laugh a lot. He used once also magic tricks and my son Glen realy liked it. So we started then also with clowning, me as clown and Glen as assistent clown.

We are trying to learn magic tricks and we can now the cutting wire, the magic book and the broken wood have we also.

I am just starting magic so we try first the easy things :)

I have done a show for friends and they realy enjoy it and my son did then the cutting wire and every one found it terrific.

I hope I can learn here more about magic and tricks so I can use it in my clowning.

Robert Giobbi first came across the concept of artistic magic while reading Stars of Magic. At the end of "Dai Vernon's Slow-Motion Four Aces," the last words of the article are: "This routine embodies many valuable sleights which form the foundation of advanced card magic. The sleights can be used in many tricks and will help you create effects of your own. The mastery of this trick will stimulate your imagination. In addition to its entertainment value, it will contribute greatly to your appreciation and end enjoyment of artistic card magic."

The phrase that really struck, was "artistic card magic". This is what he wanted his magic to look and feel like. Over the years he realized that this was one thing that all the great masters of magic had in common, regardless of how different their styles were.

While I was in Louisiana this past week, I had the pleasure to meet a couple of great guys. Dinardi the Magician was a 72 year old, still performing magician/clown. He was closing down the only magic shop in Shreveport, Louisiana…….. It’s a sad day for Shreveport. But, he had some good bargains I couldn’t resist :D. He was so supportive of my rekindled love of magic. Visiting with him (3 days in a row…like a magic junkie) was not only informative but inspirational, as well.

While in his shop I met a gentleman by the name of David Scott (greatscottillusions.com) and he certainly helped “fan the fire”. He is a full-time magician and shared some great magic with me, too. What a wonderful eclectic group of people we magicians are. From the amateur/hobbyist to the working professional, I find that for the most part, magicians are assets to their communities. Magic can be used to market, inspire, or just to entertain…..but, to keep the spirit of magic alive, it must be shared!

That’s what I love about MPT…..a community that brings the talents and knowledge of aspiring and seasoned magicians alike into a useful forum. It also offers the entrepreneur the platform to market their magic to their compeers. We’re all always on the hunt for new magic…..aren’t we?

OOK i suddenly disappeared from this place like a month ago and that is because i was super busy during the second half of summer. I finally got a job and then i had staff in training for a summer camp i may work at next year and just a bunch of other random stuff. School has started and i am just settling in. I hope to see a whole lot of new users around. Hello to scott and any other mods and in general to all of MPT!

Yeah, so I never made any darn videos or anything. I haven't gotten around to anything lately, but I have high hopes for the next couple of weeks since work will die down and I'll be able to use the internet more. I know I want to make a video for a trick Josh has been working on, and maybe that will make me want to shoot my own. I'm just a little camera shy... and I have no confidence in my skills. Anyways, i've been missing from around here, but I think i'll be able to post more. I'm a little upset that there is no sub forum for XCM anymore, I was really hoping to expand it with some new posts. :( not to be a stickler or anything lol.. I just miss it is all..

It seems that even more time slips away from me. I want so bad to practice my magic and just cannot get the time. I have taken to mentally going through stacks in my head just to be near the art. I have tried practicing some sleights while I am sitting in traffic, which accounts for about 30 mins. but, I need more. I want to sit at my magic table and just practice, practice, practice. I would have a hard time just trying to show a simple effect now.
I hope that this will change someday soon, unfortunately it will remain this way until I can find work with a company that is much less than a 90 minute drive each way.
I think I might start working on some blog entries for dealing with patter.

There will always be people in the world to fool. And given the proper trick and situation your magic can make you famous for all the right reasons. I encourage magicians who are reading this to start a magic show for the young and old alike.

YOUTUBE is not killing magic. Especially in this economy. Most people think "I don't care how magic is done aslong as I know it is all fake". Then they never think about it.

Then there are people like me who want to perfect several tricks that will practically have me set for life. I don't want to know how most tricks are done. MAGIC is a symbol for life, and people that don't understand life will not understand magic. By understand I mean letting magic just be romantic, fun, and liberating.
HOPE YOUR STILL READINGHow much do we really know, when it comes to how the world works. Just when you have mastered one field of expertise something happens to distract you. SO WHAT if you find things to distract you back into the reality of being non distracted. Give it a try. Reverse psychology practised on yourself is technichally called insanity. But who is normal. I still have to hear what my shrink has to say about that question.

I must say that is is quite an interesting book. Although it reveals very few tricks and methods it does expose the secret workings behind any magic trick. It goes into all subjects about magic that you can imagine from misdirection, to stage magic, to making a show, and even into making a public persona for yourself when you are performing to make the audiences experience all the more wonderful.

I highly recommend this book to any magician, young or old, new or experienced. It is FANTASTIC!
