The evening stage show was MC’d by none other than Jonathan Pendragon himself. A great job of weaving a theme throughout and his and his wife’s set was also great. The evening had something for audiences of any age and performance style preferences. The Conclave participants in the audience were happy to see Jonathan premiere the effect he had worked on with us the night before, and the paying audience definitely got their money’s worth.

Again, a mad dash back to the hotel for the midnight lecture by David Merry. The Official David Merry Website - David is Canada's foremost stand-up comic/magician and recipient of Canada's "Club Comic of the Year" Award
He was missed last year, as he had MC’d the evening shows for the preceding few years. His midnight lecture was a hilarious performance along the lines of The Amazing Jonathan and Carrot Top...but uniquely his own, north of the border style.

And then, more late late night sessions at the lobby tables. Me, I crashed finally at 2:30 AM. Lightweight, I know.



Sunday morning and we gathered for “An Hour With The Pendragons”, had many questions answered. Lots of interest in his recovery from the arrow through his liver, diaphragm, lung, and heart. And fun stuff about his stunt work for John Belushi, William Shatner and others.

One last pass through the dealer room, and then I wandered home, completely saturated with Magic, Magic, and more Magic!
The dealer room was better staffed this year than last. Mark Mason was there not as a performer but demo-ing a lot of amazing stuff; he has taken over distribution of Swadling’s catalog. The gaffed coins appeared to me to be on par with Schoolcraft’s products. Not inexpensive, but built to last. The other performers had tables as did Hank Lee and a few regular dealers. I spent most of my time in the room chatting with Peter of P&A Silks P&A Silks Home Page -- Silks & Silk Products for Magicians . He is my favorite curmudgeon, and has the highest quality silks available.

And then home...after putting down my deposit for next year’s Conclave. The Seacrest Hotel will be closed for Renovations, so next year it will be held a bit futher out on the Cape, in Hyannis.

The conference is the perfect size to attract top performers AND give you face time with them. If at all possible, I recommend you start making plans now to attend!
