Magical Web Cam Installation

Hi,
The magical web cam features will be installed within a matter of days = 1 week max, so its all good
Who should get the privileges & access to the cams though ?????
I think it should be a minimum post count ( maybe 25 posts ), and a certain % on the VBexperience here :-

i think it should be on the activity of the user on the forums, so we all dont get lurkers in the cam rooms, so what would be a fair usage, or activity for some 1 to access the cams???
50% i think is the bare minimum, or do you all think thats to high, or much to low???

i just want it to be fair for all users who join, and who continue to contribute to MPT
The webcams will also be our main chat rooms for everybody, and no 1 has to join up, as your names, and passes will already be integrated to the webcams

Heres some of the other features, but theres a ton more, and im sure youll all suss them out when its all installed, and running :-

Public rooms are accessible to all users.

Private rooms are accessible only to selected users, as selected by admin. A Private room can be visible to all on the Rooms list, or admin can set it to be visible only to users who can access it.

Live Support rooms are accessible by moderators who deal with each site visitor individually.

Each user has three options: to upload a personal picture, select an avatar from the ones provided, or choose to have no picture. This can all be disabled by the admin. or admin can add their preferred avatars to the avatar folder.

Reconnecting after your ISP or your computer has a glitch is smoothly handled for you. No more frustrating attempts to get back in!
The chatroom reconnects you automatically, often without you even noticing! Reconnection is set so there is no conflict between a manual attempt to login again and the software timeout.

Admin can enable/ disable private or public voice, private or public video, and Handsfree (speaker voice) options.

Private message chat is fully featured just like the main chat. Private chat opens in a comfortably sized window, with the capacity for multiple private windows at one time.

Users can block other members from opening private chat with them (but users cannot block moderators).

You can view how many users are in each room. When a user enters a room, the Roomlist updates instantly and so does the room number indicator.

Chat can be transcripted, choosing the period of time to transcript text. Transcript also acts as a freeze function to check back in a busy chat for missed items.

Emoticon smilies are always popular for users to enliven their chat with each other. With the flash source code you can create your own smilies, or add new ones.

Users can choose a font colour they like ‘on the fly’ instantly during the chat, as well as Bold, Italic and Underline.

Users can show they are male/ female/a couple, and give a date of birth in their personal window where they select an avatar or upload a picture.

Admin can make selected users into moderators.

Moderators can kick, and if necessary ban other members. Moderators cannot kick moderators.

Authenticate users to make sure only registered members can login. External users from outside cannot access without correct username and password.

So who should be allowed access to the cams, and who should get there own private rooms to mod, and admin by themselves????

It should be lower on the activity part. Try having 0% on the start to see how it works and when you have gathered your feedback slowly raise the limit.

You should also tell us how this vBexperience works. How do i get more activity?
And points for post and threads`? are that how many I have created? tell us the rules about vBexperience.

those who should have their own room should be like you said in another post, teachers those who have time to actually teach other.

Are cams btw only 1on1 could we be a group of 3?

Your def on the right track! If you haven't posted or contributed to the site then you may just be a lurker susing out how all the magical effects are done!. A post ratio is def the way to go. Because the membership might be limited everyone who signs up from MPT could have there posts checked i.e over 50 posts to see if they are first valid posts and secondly if the posts contribute in a fair way to magic and not just "Hi There" or "I agree". I like the ratio table as well. but like Henning says' might want to put some where how it all works if it isn't there already. (Unless you think people will cheat to get a better ratio)

By having it at 0% on the start off will, and could entice lurkers, or those who will try to mess it up
plus we must remember server bandwith too
i dont mind sharing bandwith with those who put into MPT, but im not going to share it with a guy who just sits there doing nothing while everyone else makes the effort to participate, and make the forum great
Any 1 whos genuine to the board, and wants to really learn magic, wont mind waiting to get access to the privileges of the forum, or other features, and it wont be set that high, so its impossible to access them, as it will all be fair, and hence the reason for this post

The rooms can be set from 2 people, or to well over a 1000, so yes you can have wee rooms of 3 = 5 users, or 1 whole big room for your own personal club members, i can expand them too, so as the rooms grow i can allow more users to enter into your club rooms if you wish, and therell still be 1 on 1 rooms for those who need privacy
but this feature will again be decided on activity, as we are not going to award a room to some 1 whos not contributing to MPT, or helping the forums grow, so every 1 has a chance to get there own rooms

As to your question :-

1 on 1 sessions, clubs, meet ups, and anything else that develops from this feature, so any 1 wanting to get a personal club going, or is looking to learn a move should start there with a post on the type of room they want, or the type of person theyd like to teach them on a move

why would someone try to lurk out how magic tricks are done if he isnt a magician in the first place?. Also this webcam function, It doesnt feel that my question was answered can we have 3 webcams going at the same time in 1 room?

Ever done a magic show and people ask how you did it?. If not it happens plenty of times to me. and if someone wanted to know how one of my effects were done and found it out here because I was showing some one in the live web cams, they might tell their friends and they tell their friends and before you know it the site might as well be like Youtube or the thing on telly- How magicians do there tricks!! . Then i wouldn't be able to perform them any more!

By lurkers i also mean any joe blog can log in then start to mess about, and post crap in the chat,
so to stop that, and give us all abit of piece of having to keep chasing them up, and banning them, its abit harder for them to get into the cams

As to your question :-
can we have 3 webcams going at the same time in 1 room?

But you can have as many cams as you want going at the same time, and in any room,
you can even view a 100 webcams at once if u wish lolololol
You can either let some 1 see your cam, or you can deny them, but i will have rooms where if you enter you must have your cam on, and therell be rooms where u can choose not to have them on, its all in the pipe line, and various rooms will be for a certain types of magic,
plus therell be the personal clubs, and members rooms that peeps set up

I get your point admin and steve. By having this 50 post rule they have to work their way up before they can mess it up and probably no one would like to make 50 post just to get banned.

This ranking system is a great idea, it will stop spmmers and trolls in their tracks. So I guess this will be implimented soon?
